THE ELUSIVE AFRICAN WILD DOG

Sure glad the tank was working tonight (Monday morning CAT). Sometimes we can drive and drive and not see any animals, but other days, the reserve is teeming with animals - well in the area where we are driving. The guides always say that you never know what animal may be around the next curve and sure enough, around the corner we drive and there are 4 "blobs" in the middle of the road. These "blobs" turn out to the African Wild Dog, a highly endangered species. How incredibly lucky we all were to witness a rare sighting! Check out The African Wild Dog Conservancy for more info on this species.
